Another major clothing store chain is coming to Boise. This time, it's a global retailer that got its start in European markets.
H&M, a Sweden-based retailer of clothing for men, women and kids, filed paperwork with the city Wednesday to move in to the space at Boise Towne Square mall that was occupied by Borders until last year.
Before the store opens, mall officials want to remodel the exterior to look more like an H&M store, including white stucco, light grey metal and large openings at the front of the store. According to previous filings to the city, the mall is planning to gut the space a project that will cost about $15,000.
There are 2,500 H&M stores worldwide, 245 of which are in the U.S. The closest H&M is in Salt Lake City.
