CAMPING

Idaho City backcountry yurts to get solar lights

Nordic Voice recently donated solar-powered lights for the yurts owned by Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation northeast of Idaho City.

The gift is a final gesture of the Nordic Voice, which after nearly 20 years of service to skiers, has ceased operations.

The yurts are a year-round destination for mountain bikers, hikers, campers, equestrians, families and others. For rental information go to parksandrecreation.idaho.gov and look under backcountry yurts.
