Ada Count Pet of the Week: Emma the cat

Published: June 12, 2012

Emma, 2-1/2, is a large and beautiful, long-haired cat with black, orange and white markings frequently called “calico.” She was brought in originally as a stray kitten, adopted and returned recently because the owner had too many animals. She is litterbox trained, spayed and microchipped. Emma enjoys being petted and handled and even enjoys a good belly rub now and then. Emma is blind in one eye and would be best in a home where she is kept indoors and made a part of the family. She will require regular brushing to keep her coat looking nice.

Emma (#9219713) can be found in kennel 6 at the Idaho Humane Society which is located at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sundays. The phone number is 342-3508.

June is Adopt-A-Shelter Cat Month. Cats and kittens make great pets for those that do not have the time and patience to spend training a new dog.
