Best late-night food: Los Betos

LOS BETOS

Multiple locations

Going to bed hungry stinks. And options can be limited at 1 a.m. when you find you’re out of anything edible besides a stick of butter and two limes.

Enter, Los Betos. You certainly won’t leave hungry, and it’s open 24/7. The standard Mexican fare, including tacos, burritos, chimichangas and tostadas won’t leave you wanting for more. In fact, the breakfast burrito (potatoes, eggs, cheese) is so big they could probably rename it the breakfast, lunch and afternoon-snack burrito. Especially if you add carne asada (recommended).

Speaking of carne asada, they don’t mess around when putting it in a burrito. Heaps of juicy beef are wrapped in a flour tortilla with guacamole, pico de gallo and nothing else. Add shredded cheese if you’re so inclined.

Their five Treasure Valley locations feature drive-throughs so you won’t even have to leave your car for a huge chicken quesadilla. The ambiance inside the dining room is more thrift store than Pottery Barn, but in the middle of the night, who cares?
