GOLDY’S BREAKFAST BISTRO

108 S. Capitol Blvd., Boise, 345-4100

Tucked on the side of Capitol Boulevard, Goldy’s has a unique feel that sets it apart from other breakfast restaurants.

As you enter, curtains seclude the dining room from the front door with the greeter immediately to your right, ready to help hungry customers be seated. The interior isn’t gigantic, but it’s not suffocating, either, and it allows patrons at each table to fully engage in conversation.

The food is what gives Goldy’s its sterling reputation, though. With plenty of fresh local ingredients, Goldy’s serves all kinds of breakfasts — eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, bacon, muffins, frittatas, biscuits and gravy, scones and lots of other options. In a 2002 issue, Bon Appetit magazine named Goldy’s as one of America’s “10 favorite places for breakfast,” specifically mentioning the Andalusia eggs.

Although the line to get a table is sometimes long, the experience is definitely worth it. There are plenty of times when you can walk right in and be seated.

Goldy’s is open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends, so whether you get up at noon or wake up the roosters, there is still time to start the day with a wonderful meal.
