DEE SARTON AND MAGGIE O’MARA

Sharing is nice, right? There’s a tie between two KTVB anchors who have ruled this category the past few years. Dee Sarton is a familiar favorite who won as recently as 2009. But Maggie O’Mara took the titles in 2010 and 2011. Neither could nab one more vote for sole place atop 2012’s poll.

Sarton anchors “News at Five,” “News at Six,” “Viewpoint” and produces “Wednesday’s Child,” which helps special-needs children find adoptive homes with Special Needs Adoption and Permanency Services Inc.

O’Mara anchors “KTVB Morning News” bright and early and is dedicated to engaging with the community. She writes her “Maggie O’Mara: Behind the Scenes” blog and also has more than 3,000 followers on Twitter. You can find her (@maggieKTVB7) tweeting about almost everything: “Good morning tweeple! I have been MIA on @KTVB for the last week, but I’m happy to report I’m having my baby today! Pics to come... :)”

Not to be outdone with social media, Sarton consistently updates her Facebook page and has more than 5,500 “Likes.” “Team Dee” and “Team Maggie” will have to wait another year for bragging rights in an issue sure to divide the Treasure Valley, and hopefully things don’t get too tense when Sarton and O’Mara pass each other in the hallways.
