CURTIS STIGERS

If you’ve lived in Boise for more than a minute, you’ve heard of singer-saxophonist and occasional shades-wearing guitarist Curtis Stigers. He’s one of the most successful musicians in Idaho history. His 1992 song, “I Wonder Why,” was a Top 10 pop hit. He sang on the zillion-selling soundtrack to “The Bodyguard.” He delivers the blues-rocking theme to FX’s popular motorcycle-gang drama “Sons of Anarchy.” And he’s released a whole series of jazz albums, which have helped make him a popular performer in Europe.

Although Stigers regularly tours overseas, he loves to give back at home. His annual Xtreme Holiday Xtravaganza — a benefit for Interfaith Sanctuary — grew into a three-night event this year that generated more than $70,000.

If Stigers is feeling pretty good about life, it might not be just about a Best of Treasure Valley victory. He recently released his 10th studio album, “Let’s Go Out Tonight,” on Concord Music Group. Filled with pop, Americana, folk and soul songs written by artists ranging from Bob Dylan to Jeff Tweedy, it’s Stigers’ best album yet.
