Meadow Lake Village, which opened in 2003, plans to spend $22.1 million and add about 100 living spaces to bring its total to 350.

A three-story lodge called the Targhee Lodge will have 68 rooms for people 55 or older who live independently. It will have one- and two-bedroom living areas, and will be 106,000 square feet.

Meadow Lake also will add a 30,000-square-foot center for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. That will house 48 private units. The memory care areas will have a beauty salon and barbershop, spa bath, and meeting rooms for families.

The project will provide 300 construction jobs. When the work is finished, Meadow Lake expects to hire up to 50 more employees in caregiving.

Touchmark, based in Beaverton, Ore., owns Meadow Lake. It has resort-style retirement communities in several states, including Oregon, Wisconsin, Montana, North Dakota , South Dakota and Washington.

The lodge and memory-care center should be completed by fall 2013.
