The Mountain West has traded a bowl slot in Shreveport, La., for one in Fort Worth, Texas, the conference announced Tuesday. This season, a Mountain West team will play a Conference USA team in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl. The Southeastern Conference will replace the Mountain West in the Independence Bowl, facing a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference. The MAACO Bowl Las Vegas and Poinsettia Bowl (San Diego) hold the top two picks from the Mountain West. The conference also has tie-ins with the New Mexico and Hawaii bowls. The Armed Forces Bowl is Dec. 29.
