Mike Marshall, a walk-on from Yakima, Wash., finished 12th at the NCAA Championships West Preliminary meet in Austin, Texas, on Thursday with a toss of 222 feet, 11 inches. He advances to the NCAA Championships on June 4-6 in Des Moines, Iowa. More than 30 Boise State, Idaho and Idaho State athletes are competing in the preliminary NCAA meet, which continues Friday and Saturday.
