Trevor L. Barnes is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of lewd conduct with a minor after police say he was caught having sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13 in a car in west Boise neighborhood Wednesday evening.
Police began investigating the case after getting an anonymous tip to check out a parked car at the corner of Stockwell Drive and Chatsworth Court, located just southwest of the Chinden Boulevard/Eagle Road intersection, at 6 p.m.
When police arrived, they found Barnes and the girl in various states of undress in the car. After a short investigation, Barnes was arrested and taken to the jail. The girl was released to her parents a short time later, according to reports.
Police say the girl is known to Barnes, who will make his initial court appearance Thursday afternoon.
The crime of lewd conduct is punishable by up to life in prison and requires anyone convicted of that to have to register as a sex offender.
