The University of Idaho is now registering its first class of vocational rehabilitation post-graduate degree candidates at its Boise campus.
The program takes two years 60 credit hours and students can enroll only every two years. The next class will start in 2014.
Graduates earn a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling and human services. They will be eligible to take a test for national certification.
The program could help meet demand for rehabilitation services as more veterans return to Idaho, said Ysabel Bilbao, a spokeswoman for the university.
People who aren't already enrolled in a degree-seeking program at the university can apply to the program as a non-degree-seeking student for the spring semester and register for up to seven credits. However, they won't be eligible for financial aid through the school.
The full program starts in May, but there will be a one-day prerequisite course held in early April.
Interested students can attend an open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 6 in the first floor of the Boise campus, 322 E. Front St. RSVP to 334-2999 or professionaldev@uidaho.edu.
