Louis J. Landreaux of Nampa started Col. Zebra 9 last summer. Landreaux is a retired U.S. Marine and retired police officer.
His one-man operation does all types of asset recovery, but it specializes in automobile repossessions.
Landreaux also does investigations and process serving, the act of delivering a legal notice, and towing and storage.
Q: What led you to open this business?
A: [I had] friends in the field, including J Sky Motors, MQM Motors, Goodwill Finance, Ozzys Auto Sales, Lupitas Auto Sales, Hum Motors, Approved Credit Inc. and DKs Auto.
Q: Have there been any bumps in the road?
A: Some of the challenges are peoples perception of you [as a repo and asset recovery worker] because of what they see in the media.
Q: What do you hope to achieve in three to five years?
A: To expand the business throughout the western U.S.
