LEGISLATURE
Talk to your constituents
My point is pretty simple. I am growing frustrated with our state Legislature acting as if they are not accountable to their constituents. I have tried to contact all three of my state representatives since the beginning of the year and none have bothered to respond.
What was the question I posed to them, you ask? All I asked is for them to clarify their position on whether Sen. John McGee should have retained his leadership post and what is the stipend amount they are receiving? I was respectful and courteous but clearly that was irrelevant.
I firmly believe government should be accountable to the people. By not responding, I am left to believe they do not feel my inquiry to be important. I pay my taxes. I give back to my community. I believe I deserve an answer when I contact my representatives.
This is not a revolutionary idea but merely a belief that government should be accountable to the people.

GEESE
What is the citys plan?
It has been a year since I mentioned this issue and it has gotten worse rather than better.
I am referring to the waterfowl problem. The hundreds of geese we had last year have increased to multiple hundreds this year. With another successful breeding season we will soon have multiple thousands. By summer, every park, playground, sports field, cemetery and patch of grass will just be a sea of slimy green goose poop.
I have two questions for our city leaders. One, is there any concern of the possible health hazard this presents? Two, does the city have a plan for dealing with this situation? If so, what is it? Thanks for your consideration.

BOGUS BASIN
Staff needs a plan for ski lift malfunctions
A Bogus Basin debacle. On Friday evening, Jan. 27, my friends and I wanted to try the new quad when it quit working around 8 p.m. At that time the temperature had dropped to 11 degrees. The ski patrol went out on snowmobiles, leaving the rest of us, including several children, stranded at the bottom of the hill without any communication about our situation. After an hour and a half, the ski patrol sent down cats to evacuate us. We reached the top of the hill around 10 p.m., tired, hungry and extremely cold.
This is the third time I have been stuck on a hill due to nonfunctioning equipment. However, the other resorts handled the situation in a quick and professional manner. The staff at Bogus Basin needs to put in place an effective plan in case of future equipment malfunction for the safety of its recreational users.
