The Boise State men’s basketball team no longer is winless in Mountain West Conference play.

And the Broncos’ 72-61 win Saturday night at Air Force was the team’s first road victory of the season and the first time coach Leon Rice’s team has tasted victory in 2012.

Freshman Joe Hanstad, making his first start, scored a career-high 19 points to lead five BSU players in double figures. Anthony Drmic scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Derrick Marks (11), Drew Wiley (11) and Kenny Buckner (10) also hit double figures for the Broncos (11-12, 1-7 MW), who made 9-of-22 shots from 3-point range.

Boise State was bolstered by the return of sophomore guard Jeff Elorriaga, who hadn’t played since breaking his finger Jan. 21. He had a team-high five assists and pulled down six rebounds.

Rice suspended senior guard Wes Perryman — the only Bronco who had started every game this season — for Saturday’s game.

“We were hired to build this program with character, unselfishness and a positive team attitude,” Rice said in a statement prior to the game. “Instilling these core values in our team is the key to our long-term success both on and off the floor. Wes made a decision that didn’t reflect these core values. We want to help Wes and all our players learn to be successful, and as a result we have suspended Wes for tonight’s game.”
