Meridian offers scholarships to high school students

The city of Meridian is offering four $1,000 scholarships to Meridian high school students.

To be eligible, applicants must live in Meridian or its area of impact, or have been a member of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council since January 2011; be graduating in the spring, and plan on attending an accredited college or vocational education program in the fall of 2012.

The scholarships, which are funded by State of the City sponsors, will be awarded to successful applicants who demonstrate evidence of leadership potential through their community involvement, as well as volunteerism, school activities, or work experience.

Scholarship application forms can be found on the city’s website at www.meridiancity.org or picked up at City Hall.

The city will accept the scholarship applications March 1 to April 6.

All completed applications should be sent or delivered to the Mayor's Office on the third floor of Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Ave., Meridian, Idaho, 83642.
