Alik G. Takhsilov is being held in the Ada County Jail on felony charges of robbery and burglary after Boise police say he held up a clerk at the Jacksons store at 3100 State Street with a knife just after 10 p.m. Sunday.

Regan Mullins is being held on a charge of felony burglary after Boise police say she was with Takhsilov when they broke into a camera store and stole five telescopes Sunday night.

Boise police were sent to a store in the 1300 block of North Orchard Street at 8:50 p.m. to investigate a burglary alarm and found that someone had broken a window to get inside, where they stole five telescopes worth over $1,000.

Police were still investigating that break-in when they got a call to investigate the armed robbery at the Jacksons around 10 p.m.

A store clerk told police a man walked inside, took out a knife, and held it by the clerk’s neck while demanding money. The robber left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk was able to give police a good description of the robber and the car he left in — including an license plate number, according to reports.

Officers located the car moments later and pulled it over near the 28th Street/Madison Avenue intersection. The 22-year-old Takhsilov and 33-year-old Mullins were inside and identified as suspects in both crimes a short time later. Police found a knife inside the car they suspect was used in the robbery and other undisclosed evidence the pair was involved in the store break-in earlier in the night.

Police later found the five stolen telescopes at the couple’s home in the 400 block of N. 28th Street.

Takhsilov and Mullins will make their initial court appearances later this afternoon.

The crime of robbery is punishable by up to life in prison, with a five year minimum sentence. The crime of burglary is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
