Laura Geis scored a game-high 20 points to lead the College of Idaho womens basketball team to a 68-53 win over Northwest Christian in Eugene, Ore., on Friday. Geis also had game-highs of nine rebounds and four blocks for the C of I (16-7, 11-3 CCC). The win was No. 200 in head coach Reagan Rossis career.
C OF I MENS BASKETBALL: The Coyotes defeated Northwest Christian 60-56 in Eugene, Ore. Sydney Donaldson led the C of I (9-16, 4-10 CCC) with a game-high 17 points.
C OF I BASEBALL: The Coyotes split a pair of games at the NAIA Desert Classic in Anthem, Ariz., beating Fresno Pacific 11-3 and falling to Point Loma Nazarene 9-8. Tyler Andazola hit a home run for the C of I (2-1) in the victory.
C OF I MEN'S TENNIS: Seattle swept the Coyotes 7-0 in their season opener in Lewiston.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE SOFTBALL: The Crusaders dropped a doubleheader to top-ranked UC San Diego 8-5 and 5-2 in La Jolla, Calif. Emily Renfro, Cara Duckworth, Arielle Chao and Brianna Kinghorn each finished with two hits for NNU (0-2) on the day.
LEWIS-CLARK STATE BASEBALL: The Warriors hit six home runs in a 16-5 win over Wayland Baptist at the Arizona Desert Classic. LCSC improved to 1-1.
IDAHO WOMENS BASKETBALL: The Vandals rallied from an 18-point deficit to beat Hawaii 69-61 late Thursday night in Honolulu for their first conference victory and first road win of the season. Senior Keri Arendse had career-highs with 19 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double. Idaho (6-16, 1-5 WAC) snapped an eight-game skid.
