This group is more than just four friends who like singing together. The Manhattan Transfer road a wave of 1940s nostalgia in the 1970s to resurrect musical styles from boogie-woogie to vocalese. The quartet of Tim Hauser, Janis Siegel, Cheryl Bentyne and Alan Paul became the premier vocal group of their era, with hits that crossed over from jazz to easy listening and disco. This is the groups 40th anniversary year, and they will be in Boise singing their hits from Birdland to Twilight Zone, plus a plethora of standards, such as Java Jive and Tuxedo Junction.
