A capsule look at Idaho's 2012 recruiting class

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS (15)

RB Trae Armstrong, 5-9, 185, Deer Valley HS (Glendale, Ariz.): Rushed for 1,794 yards and 23 touchdowns. Clocked a 10.3 time in the 100 meters and was state track champion in 100, 200 and 400 meters. Also will run track at Idaho.

QB Chad Chalich, 6-0, 180, Coeur d’Alene HS (Coeur d’Alene): Two-time state champion and two-time 5A state player of the year. Completed 73 percent of his passes in his senior year and finished his career with 6,485 yards and 74 touchdowns.

QB Austin DeCoud, 6-3, 220, East Valley HS (Redlands, Calif.): Passed for 1,378 yards and 14 touchdowns. First team All-Citrus League quarterback who guided team to an 11-1 record.

K Jace Johnson, 6-0, 190, Eagle HS (Eagle): The 5A All-Idaho kicker made 57- of-58 extra points and has a career-long field goal of 47 yards. Eighty-eight percent of his kickoffs during his senior season were touchbacks.

CB Jayshawn Jordan, 5-9, 170, O’Dea HS (Seattle): The three-year starter was a first team all-state selection after recording 64 tackles, three interceptions and seven knockdowns. He was the Metro League Mountain Division player of the year. His uncle, Jeff Jordan, played at Idaho.

TE Eric Lemke, 6-4, 225, Issaquah HS (Issaquah, Wash.): Made 30 receptions for 350 yards and three touchdowns while being named first team All-King County tight end. Earned the “rising star” award at a Washington State camp.

S Ma`ne Manaea, 5-11, 175, Lakes HS (Lakewood, Wash.): The South Puget League player of the year originally committed to Colorado and had interest from Washington State. He made 42 tackles and had four interceptions as a senior.

DT Matthew Neal, 6-3, 275, Merrillville HS (Merrillville, Ind.): Made 70 tackles as a senior and originally signed with Toledo and grayshirted. Brother Michael Jr. plays for the Green Bay Packers and father Michael played with coach Robb Akey at Weber State.

OL Kyree Oliver, 6-5, 292, Heritage HS (Brentwood, Calif.): Was selected to play in a California all-star game as a senior. Also was a starter on the defensive line.

LB Addison Palomino, 6-3, 205, Pinnacle HS (Phoenix): Recorded 86 tackles, including 20 for loss and 12 sacks, during his senior season. He was an all-state selection and the Section III North player of the year.

DE Antonio Perez, 6-2, 225, Sheldon HS (Elk Grove, Calif.): The second team All-Delta River pick made 50 tackles and recorded seven sacks as a senior. He was a member of the East Bay Holiday Classic all-star team.

LB Russell Siavii, 6-2, 170, Leilehua HS (Wahiawa, Hawaii): The first team all-state safety is the younger brother of Idaho linebacker Robert Siavii. Intercepted four passes in a game as a senior.

ATH Deon Watson, 6-3, 210, Coeur d’Alene HS (Coeur d’Alene): The first team 5A All-Idaho receiver (54 catches, 931 yards, 13 touchdowns) could play tight end or defensive end. Also will play basketball for Idaho, just like his father, Deon.

S Andrew Williams, 6-0, 175, Cosumnes Oaks HS (Elk Grove, Calif.): Two-year starter also played quarterback in high school and set a single-game rushing record with 230 yards. He was an All-Sierra Valley pick.

OL Mason Woods, 6-8, 320, Terry Fox Secondary (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia): Was a team captain and all-state selection who played on both sides. Made 30 tackles with eight sacks on defense.

GRAYSHIRT FROM 2011 (1)

WR Camryn Harris, 6-0, 180, Valley Christian HS (Dublin, Calif.): Had 40 receptions for 582 yards and was first team All-Bay League. In one game, he scored touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams.

JUNIOR COLLEGE TRANSFERS (8)

*RB James Baker, 6-2, 220, jr., Independence CC (Deerfield, Fla.): Coach Robb Akey said he has a “downhill running style.’’

*WR Najee Lovett, 5-9, 160, jr., Contra Costa College (Berkeley, Calif.): Has the ability to play both inside and outside.

LB Elijah Sala, 6-3, 220, jr., LA Harbor College (Wilmington, Calif.): Finished his sophomore season with 42 tackles, two sacks and five interceptions, one of which he returned a school-record 89 yards for a touchdown. Cousin of former Idaho lineman Sam Tupua.

DT Toapasi Toki, 6-1, 306, jr., Chabot JC (Kaelekehe, Hawaii): Helped Chabot capture a conference championship and was an all-conference selection at Kaelekehe High in Hawaii.

OL Semisi Tupou, 6-4, 380, jr., East Central CC (Long Beach, Calif.): Played defensive line last season at East Central and made 29 tackles and two sacks. Also played one season at Cerritos JC and was an all-conference lineman.

* OL Niklaus Von Rotz, 6-5, 302, jr., Butte CC (Chico, Calif.): Can play either guard or tackle.

WR Kryen Watts, 6-2, 174, jr., College of the Siskiyous (New Waverly, Texas): Made 40 catches for 700 yards and nine touchdowns in his one season at Siskiyous. He also played one season at Kilgore (Texas) College.

LB Matthew Willis, 6-0, 225, jr., LA Harbor College (Palos Verdes, Calif.): Attended the Air Force Academy before transferring to LA Harbor, where he was the defensive player of the year for the Central West Conference. He made 122 tackles with seven sacks and three forced fumbles.
