12,000 trout to be stocked in the Valley

Fishing in the Treasure Valley is going to get pretty good in February.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is planning to stock more more than 12,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout.

Here’s the stocking schedule:

Boise River (above Glenwood Bridge) - Feb. 13, 600.

Boise River (below Glenwood Bridge) - Feb. 13, 600.

Eagle Island Park Pond - Feb. 6, 500.

Ed’s Pond (Emmett) - Feb. 20, 250.

Marsing Pond - Jan. 30, Feb. 27, 450 each day.

Mill Pond (Horseshoe Bend) - Feb. 20, 450.

McDevitt Pond (Boise) - Feb. 13, 450.

Merrill Pond (Eagle) - Feb. 13, 450.

ParkCenter Pond (Boise) - Feb. 13, 900.

Payette Pond - Feb. 20, 450.

Quinn’s Pond (Boise) - Feb. 7, 500.

Riverside Pond (Boise) - Feb. 13, Feb. 20, 350 each day.

Rotary Pond (Caldwell) - Feb. 6, 400.

Sawyer’s Ponds - Feb. 20, 900.

Sego Prairie Pond at Nicholson Park (Kuna) - Feb. 13, 200.

Settler’s Pond (Meridian) - Feb. 13, 250.

Veteran’s Pond (Boise) - Feb. 20, 450.

Weiser Community Pond - Feb. 20, 500.

Wilson Springs (Nampa) - Jan. 30, Feb. 13, Feb. 27, 250 each day.

Wilson Springs Ponds (Nampa) - Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 13, Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, 400 each day.

The number of trout actually released may be altered by weather and other factors. If delays occur, trout will be stocked when conditions become favorable.
