Services scheduled for Idaho Marine who died in Afghanistan

A funeral service is scheduled Sunday for an Idaho Marine who died while supporting U.S. military operations in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Kenneth E. Cochran of Wilder died of non-combat action on Jan. 15 in Habib, Afghanistan.

Cochran, 20, was assigned to 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, out of Okinawa, Japan.

The funeral begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Parma High School Gym. Interment is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.

Lance Cpl. Kenneth E. Cochran is at least the 61st Idahoan to die since the United States launched military actions after Sept. 11, 2001.
