Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a garage fire in the 6100 block of West Clinton Street in Boise. The fire was reported at 7:26 a.m.

The homeowner tried to put out the fire before firefighters arrived at the scene, but he was not hurt, according to Boise police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower. The fire was fast moving due to lumber and extra fuel stored in the garage.

The fire caused the partial collapse of the garage roof. Items stored in the garage and an RV parked next to it were destroyed by the fire. The homeowner said the garage and RV weren't covered by insurance.
