Idaho colleges: Boise State swims strong in victory over Oregon State

The Broncos set two pool records and won seven events en route to a 148-114 victory over Oregon State at the Boise-West Family YMCA. The records were set by BSU's 200-yard medley relay team (1:44.52) and Amber Boucher in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.28). Boucher added another victory in the 100-yard butterfly and helped the 400-yard freestyle squad to a first-place finish in the day's final event. The Broncos also picked up wins from Stephanie North (50- and 100-yard freestyles) and Emily Irvin (500-yard freestyle).

BSU TRACK & FIELD: The Broncos won seven events at the Bronco Invitational at Jacksons Indoor Track in Nampa. The Broncos earned titles in the men’s and women’s weight throw (Mele Vaisima and Trevor Kraychir), the men’s 400-meters (Manoah Wesson) and 4x400-meter relay, and the women’s 800-meters (Rici Morrill), 3000-meters (Emma Bates) and (Alexi Morton) high jump.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO TRACK & FIELD: Sophomore Austin Basterrechea broke three school indoor records at the Bronco Invitational. Basterrechea finished fourth in the high jump (6-4 1/4), sixth in the long jump (21-5 1/2) and made the finals in the 60-hurdles (9.31). Freshman Audrey Youren also broke a school record with an eighth-place mark of 5-1 in the high jump.

C OF I MEN'S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes were defeated by Oregon Tech 64-46 in Klamath Falls, Ore. C of I is 7-15, 2-9 CCC.

C of I WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Tina Fakahafua scored 16 points and the Coyotes force 27 turnovers in a 63-54 win over league-leading Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls, Ore. Felicity Jones added 14 points for the C of I (13-7, 8-3 CCC), while Katelin Shannon went a perfect 8-for-8 at the foul line.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN'S BASKETBALL: JB Pillard scored 15 points and Anthony Golden chipped in 14 during a 90-71 loss to Western Washington in Bellingham. NNU fell to 9-8, 3-6 GNAC.

NNU WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Alli Dzhidzhiyeshvili scored a game-high 20 points, leading five Crusaders in double fugues during a 75-62 win over Western Washington in Nampa. NNU improved to 11-6 overall, 5-4 GNAC.
