Cheryl B. Schrader, dean of Boise State University College of engineering from 2003 to February of 2011, has been named chancellor at Missouri University of Science and Technology,

She will start work on April 2 at the school, which is part of the University of Missouri system.

Under Schrader's leadship, enrollment in Boise State's College of Engineering grew by 60 percent and the number of grants and contracts more than tripled.

She left as dean to become Boise State's associate vice president for strategic research initiative last February.

"Cheryl has consistently been viewed as one of America's best engineering teachers, and she's also excelled in research and public service at the university, state, national and professional level," said University of Missouri President-designate Timothy M. Wolfe.
