Idaho's first Moxie Java store will close, according to Rick Dean, owner of the Moxie Java company.

Dean called it "sad but true" that the store at 570 Main St. in Downtown Boise will close. It opened in 1988. The current franchise owner took it over three or four years ago and has had difficulty operating the store, he said.

"I don't know what all went down," Dean said. He could not provide a closing date.

Dean said the Main Street store's owner runs a total of 10 Moxie Java coffee shops in Boise, and he hadn't heard that any of the others would close.

The store owner could not immediately be reached Friday evening.
