A Nampa telecom company says it will launch a test marketing program in the Treasure Valley that could lead to a rollout of its products to national markets and increase employment in southwest Idaho.

The company, nexMatrix Telecom, makes private-branch telephone equipment that provides phone service through wire phone lines and remote computer servers.

NexMatrix, which has eight employees, plans to canvass the Treasure Valley over the next several months through North American Telephone and Video, its direct-sales arm. The pilot marketing program is designed to prepare the company to offer its services in 18 major metro areas, such as San Francisco, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, beginning in April.

Dianne Ursini, the CEO, has high hopes for the effort. Ursini says netMatrix's growth could lead to creating up 300 jobs in the Boise region in 2012. A number of those jobs would be in a call center for sales and support, but the company also hopes to hire software developers, Ursini said.

The company has found a niche by offering more features than competitors at lower cost, Ursini said.
