It will be a night for big music as Robert Franz and the Boise Philharmonic perform Rachmaninovs expansive Piano Concerto No. 3 with the spectacular Barry Douglas, pictured, and Dvoraks stirring Symphony No. 7. Born in Belfast, Douglas became an international sensation as the first non-Russian since Van Cliburn to win gold at the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in 1986. The Rachmaninov 3 is one of the most difficult in the repertoire, and its one Douglas is known for knocking out of the park with sizzling technique and masterful depth.
