Choirs, trains and Santa, oh my. And pretty lights. Lots and lots of pretty lights.
It can only be the Idaho Botanical Garden’s Winter Garden aGlow, and all proceeds benefit the Idaho Botanical Garden’s education and horticulture programs.
If it’s not a holiday tradition in your family, make it one now. Start with 250,000 colorful light, then add bonfires, hot chocolate, choirs, more choirs, Santa, hot cider, live music, a unique gift store and even a model train display, and you’ve got something to cherish something the whole family will want to experience year after year.
Stroll up to the Lewis and Clark native plant garden for a panoramic view of the lights, then go check out the new koi pond in the children’s garden.
Christmas magic. It’s all good.
WHEN: Nov. 24-27 (Thanksgiving weekend) and Dec. 2-Jan. 8 (Open for all holidays, including Christmas Day) from 6 to 9 p.m. Last admission at 8:45 p.m. Lights out at 9:30 p.m.

HOLIDAY EXPRESS MODEL TRAIN DISPLAY: For the second year, this G scale model train in the English Garden is a perfect ride for any Christmas fairies passing by. Designed by the Southern Idaho Garden Railway Society, these 7-inch tall railroad cars and engines are exact replicas of both steam and diesel varieties. See the website for schedule.
ONLINE AUCTION THROUGH DEC. 10: In time for Christmas, win a 2012 Outlaw Field Concert package, a signed BSU football and helmet, a Garden Makeover With Rod (the Garden’s head horticulturist) that includes credit at Jayker Nursery, catering packages and much more.
