Voter turnout across Canyon County Tuesday was about 15.3 percent, which Deputy County Clerk Brad Jackson called "low normal" for a city election without a mayor's race.
City-specific turnout numbers for Nampa and Caldwell won't be available until Thursday, Jackson said Wednesday afternoon. Both Nampa and Caldwell, by far the largest Canyon County cities, had council races but no mayor's race or other ballot issues.
Several small Canyon County towns, particularly Melba and Wilder, skewed the countywide turnout somewhat by posting unusually high percentages of ballots, Jackson said.
In Melba, the county's smallest city with a 2010 census count of 513 residents, 215 of the 250 registered voters cast ballots. That's a whopping 86 percent turnout, and it ousted Melba Mayor Martin Luttrell, who came in second in a four-way race. Winner Doug Sturges took nearly 45 percent of the vote.
Turnout percentages for Canyon County will likely rise slightly after election-day registrations are added in, but Jackson said registration at the polls was light.
