The Boise Philharmonic and guest conductor Robin Browning will undertake one of Beethoven’s most transcendent works, Symphony No. 3 “Eroica.” With sweep and epic passages, it paints a musical picture of Napoleon’s heroism and revolutionary spirit that swept Europe after the French Revolution. The symphony was revolutionary because Beethoven redefined how music could impact an audience by bringing a political message into the concert hall. The program also includes Beethoven’s dynamic “Emperor” piano concerto played by guest artist Carlos Cesar Rodriguez.
