FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Doug Martin and Tyler Shoemaker enjoyed landmark performances for the Broncos.

Martin rushed 20 times for a career-high 200 yards and three TDs. His was the 14th 200-yard rushing game in school history.

Martin scored his first two touchdowns within the Broncos’ first nine offensive plays. He got the ball on a draw on third-and-4 on the opening drive, cut quickly to the left to avoid a defender and raced 26 yards to the end zone. On the second play of the next drive, he took a handoff wide left, turned the corner and showed a burst of speed on a 65-yard run.

“He gets us going and he’s tremendous,” quarterback Kellen Moore said.

Shoemaker made nine catches for 180 yards — both career highs — and touchdowns of 52 and 62 yards. He also had a 37-yard run on a fake punt.

Shoemaker made six touchdown catches in the first three games but was shut out in the previous two games.

“It’s kind of the way our offense goes,” Moore said. “Last game, Shoe didn’t get a lot of looks. At the same time, he was ready for this week and he knew he would have plenty of chances.”
