No gloom here: Sixteen Idaho companies earned their way onto Inc. magazines annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing privately held companies. Three of them made it into the top 500. As reported in Wednesdays Statesman, Scentsy, the wickless candle maker, ranked 85th, the highest in Idaho.
Take a bow, Balihoo: The Boise tech firm, which makes a software platform and offers services to help national companies tailor their advertising to local markets, came in at No. 264, up from No. 401 last year, based on revenue. Honestly, we are growing like crazy both in terms of revenue and also hiring, said Shane Vaughan, vice president of marketing.
Another up side: The 16 companies added 1,400 jobs during the three-year period used to rank companies, the magazine said. Rankings were based on revenue growth between 2007 and 2010.
