GRAND PRIZE: Remington Kendall, of Emmett You can chalk it up to beginners luck if you like, but Kendalls photo was no accident. He took a sequence of shots of Chris Eggleston of Eagle fishing the South Fork of the Clearwater River in late fall. Kendall used a polarizer filter to bring out depth in the color and adjusted his shutter speed to get just the right combination of sharp focus and blur to show the motion of the cast. I think it was the right combination to give it some life, he said. The judges agreed. The 26-year-old Parma High School graduate started shooting photos about a year ago, and learned from a National Geographic photographer he met in Argentina. I was lucky in a lot of ways, he said. Kendall wins an Olympus PEN EPL-2 camera with a 14-27 mm lens from Idaho Camera.
