Samantha Chinea is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of trafficking marijuana after Boise police say she got caught selling a pound of pot Saturday night in the parking lot behind Edwards Boise Stadium 22 movie theater.

Boise police officials say the arrest of the 19-year-old Chinea was done as part of a ongoing investigation into marijuana trafficking. Police reports do not say who Chinea is accused of selling the marijuana but do say officers seized about 450 grams of pot during the arrest.

Police officials say the street value of the marijuana was about $2,300. Police did not find any weapons in Chinea’s car and say she was by herself at the time of the bust.

Chinea, who was arrested around 8 p.m. Saturday, will make her initial court appearance later Monday.

The crime of trafficking in marijuana is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum of one year in prison for anyone who is arrested having between 1-to-5 pounds of pot.
