Former Boise State men's basketball coach Greg Graham is back in the college game, having accepted a position to be an assistant coach at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.

Graham spent eight seasons (2002-2010) as head coach of the Broncos, compiling a 142-112 record. He took Boise State to the NCAA Tournament in 2008 but was fired two years later after a 15-17 season as attendance dipped to 3,061 fans per game.

Graham didn't coach last season. He still was being paid by Boise State and spent a lot of time visiting other programs and watching his two sons play.

"I traveled a lot in the fall and watched a bunch of programs in the Midwest and in Texas," Graham said. "I always had wanted to do that. It was good to get out and see what they do and to talk with them."

Graham's new position has him working for Geno Ford, who took over at Bradley after a successful run at Kent State. Graham has known Ford for many years. Both were born and raised in Ohio, and Graham saw Ford play high school basketball and watched him lead Ohio University to the NCAA Tournament in 1994.

"It's all about the people you're with, and being with him is going to be good," Graham said.

"I am very excited to add someone with Greg's previous levels of accomplishment," Ford said in a press release. "He is a very good coach who has a ton of experience as an assistant at the highest levels and was a very successful head coach at Boise State. He has a great reputation as an offensive coach, and I am looking forward to working with him."

Graham also has been an assistant coach at Oregon, Saint Mary's, San Jose State, San Diego State and New Mexico.

"I think I will be a better assistant now, having known what the head guy goes through," Graham said. "I think that's a big reason why he brought me in. I've done just about everything. I'm still coaching, and I'm doing it in a great place. The Missouri Valley is a good conference, and Bradley has a lot of tradition. People are very passionate here about their basketball. I'm excited and looking forward to it."
