BOISE — Jury selection in the Daniel Ehrlick first-degree murder trial was supposed to begin next week, but that isn’t going to happen until May.

The trial for Ehrlick’s former girlfriend Melissa Jenkins — who also is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her son, Robert Manwill — is scheduled to begin in January.

Prosecutors had planned to compel Jenkins to testify against Ehrlick under a deal stipulating that nothing she says in his trial can be used against her in her own trial.

It is unclear how the switch will affect the prosecution’s overall strategy in the case.
