Wednesday was the first day of the early signing period for basketball. The period continues through Wednesday.

BOISE STATE WOMEN

Coach Gordy Presnell signed four players.

® Kati Isham: The Howe native plays at Walla Walla Community College and last year ranked second in the conference with 22.8 points per game and was the East League MVP.

® Janelle Kearney: The senior at Diamond Ranch High in Pomona, Cailf., averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds per game last year.

® Diana Lee: The point guard from Handsworth Secondary in North Vancouver, B.C., has averaged more than 10 points per game in all three seasons of her career.

® Cinnamon Lister: A McDonald's All-American nominee as she enters her senior season at Santiago High in Corona, Calif. As a junior, she averaged 11.7 points and 3.4 assists per game.

IDAHO MEN

Coach Don Verlin added three players.

® Idell Bell: The 6-foot-2-inch combo guard from Lakeland, Fla., played the 2007-2008 season at Brevard Community College in Florida where he was named an All-American after averaging 20.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He now plays at North Idaho College.

® Renaldo Parker: A 6-6 forward from Seattle was the player of the year in the Scenic West Athletic Conference last season and averaged 14.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game at North Idaho College.

® Gary Winston: The Walla Walla High senior averaged 16.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and shot 51 percent from the field last year as a junior.

IDAHO STATE MEN

Coach Joe O'Brien signed one player.

® Andre Hatchett: The 6-4 guard at Santa Rita High in Tucson, Ariz., averaged 15.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game as a junior.

IDAHO STATE WOMEN

Coach Seton Sobolewski signed three players.

® Sheryl Bitter: The 5-6 point guard helped lead Shelley High to the 3A state title last year.

® Kara Jenkins: The 5-8 guard helped Riverside High in Auburn, Wash., to back-to-back state titles.

® Cydney Horton: A 6-foot forward was an all-league selection at Cherokee Trail High in Colorado.
