The Central District Health Department will offer a special walk-in clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the former Comp USA at 1195 N. Milwaukee St.

The seasonal flu clinic will be open to all children ages 6 months to 18 years. They will be vaccinated on a first come-first served basis.

No adult seasonal flu vaccine will be available. No H1N1 (swine) flu vaccine will be available either.

The vaccine is free, but there will a $14 administration fee. The health department will bill insurance, so bring insurance or Medicaid cards with you.

Children will be assigned the type of vaccine most appropriate for them as supplies last. Supplies are limited to 730 doses of shots and nasal mist.

All forms of the seasonal flu vaccine are preservative-free, the health department said.

Parents seeking seasonal flu vaccine for their children will be assigned a card with the type of vaccine their child will receive. The number of cards will match the number of doses of each type of vaccine and when the cards are out. Others waiting in line will be told the vaccine supply has been exhausted.

To expedite the process of getting a vaccine assignment, parents can download and fill out the seasonal flu consent form available at www.cdhd.idaho.gov in advance of arriving at the clinic.

This is a one-time-only clinic. Shots will not be offered at the health department office.

For more information on the flu, visit the CDHD Web site at www.cdhd.idaho.gov or call the health department's Flu Hotline at 321-2222.
