RECOGNITION
Jim C. Harris, Boise, was named Idaho's 2009 Trial Lawyer of the Year and presented the James J. May Award.
Harris was recognized for his successful efforts to limit liability insurance company abuse of Idaho citizens and for his representation of common people in their struggles for corporate accountability in the civil justice system, the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association said.
Harris is a former Ada County prosecuting attorney and a personal injury lawyer. He is a certified civil trial specialist and is associated with Filicetti Law Office in Boise.
QnA Court Reporting LLC said Jeana Reiner has earned the designation of Registered Professional Reporter by the National Court Reporters Association. The designation is recognized nationwide as a demonstration of a court reporter's proficiency and dedication to the profession. Reiner is also a certified shorthand reporter in Idaho and California and is a deposition reporter for QnA Court Reporting.
CSHQA said Ted Isbell, AIA, has passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional Exam. Isbell received his bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans. He joined CSHQA in 2000 and became a stockholder in 2002. His most recent experience has been with national automotive retailer Lithia Motors Inc. Ted also was a project manager for the Boise Airport Passenger Terminal project.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is a past president of AIA Idaho and AIA Idaho, Central Section. He is also a past member of Boise City Arts Commission's MAP II Task Force and past participant of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Boise program.
Michelle Hicks of Buck Consultants, a global human-resources consulting firm, has been awarded a 2009 Hermes Creative Award, presented annually by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
Hicks, who works in Buck's Boise office, was named a Gold Award winner for the development, writing and design of the J.R. Simplot Co.'s Open Enrollment campaign for 2009. Buck Consultants was awarded eight Hermes Creative Awards in 2009.
GOOD DEEDS
Supportive Housing and Innovative Partnerships has received a grant of $5,000 from the Wells Fargo Foundation. The gift will be used to support SHIP's training and education program. The program provides training and paid work experience in green jobs for low-income people recovering from substance-use disorders, mental illness and/or homelessness. SHIP provides green jobs through its Second Chance Building Materials Center, a recycling center for building materials that are sold to the community at affordable prices.
