Former Capital High football star and NFL player Jake Plummer will coach quarterbacks and help with the offense, Sandpoint head coach Mike Mitchell said Thursday.
Plummer lives in the Sandpoint area. He is joining the staff as a paid assistant.
"It's not an-every-single-day deal because he has other commitments in the fall, but he's excited about it and we're happy to have a guy with that kind of experience," Mitchell said. "He has great charisma and the kids love to be around him."
Plummer played 10 seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos. He retired in 2007 after being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
