Boise Ranch Golf Course

12:00am on Apr 11, 2008; Modified: 9:33pm on Apr 11, 2008

Yardage: 134 (gold), 122 (jade), 110 (silver), 91 (rose) Short but tricky, this par-3 is all carry over water, and the green doesn't hold well. It's difficult to get close to the hole, particularly with a front pin. CHADD CRIPE / THE IDAHO STATESMAN

6501 S. Cloverdale Road, Boise

Green fees: $26 for 18 holes, $17 for 9 Monday-Thursday; $34 for 18, $20 for 9 Friday-Sunday; $20 juniors, $23 seniors, $20 twilight Monday-Thursday

Par: 35-36 - 71

Black tees - 6,591 yards; 69.3 rating, 117 slope for men

Bronze tees - 6,105 yards; 67.2 rating, 111 slope for men

Gold tees - 5,206 yards; 67.2 rating, 111 slope for women

What's new: The course has a new color scheme for the tee markers, has done some landscaping around the first and 10th tees and is in the process of moving some tee boxes. There's also new out of bounds on No. 3.

What's cool: No. 13 is a monster - 634 yards from the gold tees - that plays to a two-tiered green. No. 4 is a short par-3 that is all carry over a pond.

Walkability: Easy

Pro: Chad Watson

Practice facilities: Driving range, two putting greens, practice bunker
