What's there: Trout, perch and smallmouth bass.
Description: This 1,800-acre reservoir is a great fishing spot for perch. Trollers take rainbow and brown trout in the deep water, and bank anglers get them from shore.
Magic is also a favorite of fly anglers, who ply the shallow areas near the dam. The reservoir also has one of the healthiest perch populations in the state, which provide year-round fishing.
All fish feed perch, and any lure or fly that mimics a perch is likely to catch some fish.
Magic is one of the most popular places in the state for ice fishing.
Getting there: Take I-84 east to Exit 141, then U.S. 26 east and U.S. 75 north to the reservoir. An alternate route is I-84 and then U.S. 20.
Drive time: About 2.5 hours.
