Men's stories of relations with Sen. Larry Craig

December 2, 2007

An anonymous 40-year-old professional man from the Washington, D.C., area said he and Craig had sex in two men's restrooms at Union Station in Washington, probably in 2004.

David Phillips, 42, a Washington, D.C., computer consultant, said he had sex with Craig in 1986 at a house on Capitol Hill. Mike Jones, 50, a former male escort from Denver, said Craig paid him $200 for sex in late 2004 or early 2005.

Greg Ruth, 50, a Washington, D.C., photographer said Craig hit on him in a men's restroom at a GOP meeting in Coeur d'Alene in 1981. Ruth said Craig invited him to stay with him in Washington. Tom Russell, 48, a Utah businessman, said Craig was unusually attentive to him in a conversation at Bogus Basin, probably in the winter of 1983-84. Russell said Craig suggested they meet elsewhere at another time. Russell said Craig subtly signaled that he knew Russell was gay. A former University of Idaho student said Craig took him to his room at Craig's fraternity house in 1967. Craig put his hands on the student's knees and made what the man describes as a sexual advance.

A 45-year-old Boise man said that in November 1994 Craig "cruised" him at the Boise REI in an attempt to induce the man to meet him for sex.

A 46-year-old professional man from Boise said that Craig reached his hand into the man's stall in a men's restroom at the Denver airport in September 2006, making a similar gesture to that described by the officer who arrested Craig in June 2007 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.
