Boise State’s five invited offensive players made a strong statement this weekend at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Quarterback Jared Zabransky, tight end Derek Schouman and wide receivers Legedu Naanee and Drisan James all finished first in their testing groups in at least one test. Wide receiver Jerard Rabb also put up good numbers.

Defensive back Gerald Alexander works out Tuesday.

“We tore it up,” Zabransky said after his workout Sunday. “… I think I turned a lot of heads.”

Zabransky tied for first in his group, which was a combination of quarterbacks and wide receivers, in the 20-yard shuttle with a time of 4.08 seconds. The group had about 40 players, Zabransky said.

Zabransky also finished fourth in the three-cone agility drill (6.78 seconds). He said he finished first among quarterbacks in three of five tests and second in another. He was fourth in ball speed at 55.2 mph.

Zabransky, who ran the 40-yard dash in a little over 4.5 seconds, could get a look at safety because of his athletic ability. He says that’s OK.

“But I haven’t hit anybody in six years,” he said.

Naanee boosted his stock by running the 40 in 4.41 seconds (fifth in his group) and winning his group with a 40-inch vertical jump. James won his group in the vertical (39 inches) and tied for first in the broad jump (10 feet, 9 inches).

Rabb finished sixth in the 20-yard shuttle (4.19 seconds), tied for fourth in the broad jump (10-5) and ninth in the vertical (36.5 inches).

Meanwhile, Schouman was outstanding in the tight end tests Saturday.

He finished first in his group in the 20-yard shuttle (4.27 seconds), 60-yard shuttle (11.56) and vertical jump (37.5 inches). He was second in the broad jump (10-2), third in the three-cone test (7.0 seconds) and tied for fourth in the 40 (4.74 seconds).
