Spc. Lee Kerns of Bravo Company finds a moment to himself on Saturday morning in his barracks at Fort Lewis, Wash. Kerns, of Idaho Falls, has been passing the time by touring nearby Tacoma, buying gifts, and visiting Hooters once or twice. He is among hundreds of soldiers in the 116th Brigade Combat Team who are being Âprocessed out of the regular Army and waiting to fly home to their lives as civilians and part-time soldiers.
