JOB CHANGES
Frank Morehouse has been named executive vice president and general manager of Intermountain Gas Co. of Boise. MDU Resources Group closed on the acquisition of Intermountain. The natural gas utility serves about 300,000 customers in southern Idaho.
Morehouse was most recently vice present of operations for Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. He also served as manager of the company's Dakota Heartland Region and the company's Great Plains Natural Gas operations in western Minnesota.
Syringa Bank has announced the promotion of Brian Heim to senior vice president and controller. Heim is based at the One Capital Center location, 999 Main St.
As senior vice president and controller, Heim is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting function of the Bank, including reporting financial statements to regulatory agencies, and supervising the accounting staff.
Heim holds his bachelor of science degree in accounting and business administration from North Dakota State University, and is completing his final year at the Graduate School of Banking program.
RECOGNITION
The Idaho Lottery claimed three first-place awards for advertising and promotions during the North American State and Provincial Lottery Association's Annual Conference in Philadelphia last week, including top awards for Best Lotto Radio Advertising and Best TV Spot under $25,000.
The Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle radio commercial, "The Audition" won for the Best Lotto Radio Advertising commercial last year.
The animated "Twisterman" commercial for the Lottery's scratch game Twister won for Best TV Spot under $25,000. Idaho advertising agency Drake-Cooper developed the concept for "Twisterman."
Finally, the Idaho Lottery won a Delegate Award for the point-of-sale materials for its Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle campaign.
This campaign included all the print materials used in stores to sell-out last year's new, Idaho-only lotto game and included a cardboard cut-out of "Raffle Lady" as well as the "Safe Ticket Holders" handed out to players. All the art work was created in-house at the Idaho Lottery by Advertising Manager Sherie Moody-St. Clair and Graphic Artist Stephanie Wellman.
GOOD DEEDS
Friends of Zoo Boise is closer to its goal to fund the Wilmot African Plains Exhibit due to open Saturday. The Bank of the Cascades donated $2,500 toward Zoo Boise's newest endeavor.
The bank's corporate philanthropy program gives priority to nonprofit organizations that support or benefit low and moderate income individuals and families, and serves nonprofit organizations that address issues in community development, education, arts, environment, youth, seniors and human services.
