The classic American style of George Balanchine comes to Boise in Ballet Idaho's last performance under artistic director Toni Pimble. The company will perform "Who Cares?" to music by George Gershwin.

This company has adopted many dance styles. Now it will add the lyrical, neoclassical lines of Balanchine, who created an American classical dance style through his New York City Ballet company in the mid-20th century.

The program also includes one of Pimble's signature pieces, "Silk & Steel," a collaboration with visual artist Steve Oshatz. Dancers swoop across stage with giant silk wings and ribbons, and appear to tiptoe on a tightrope and balance metal hoops and bowls while doing intricate choreography.
