Idaho Sen. Michael Crapo and Rep. Bill Sali have received top marks from a group pushing to reduce immigration, illegal and legal, to protect workers and the environment.

NumbersUSA cited 19 senators and 20 representatives for voting to curb immigration. The group gave lawmakers letter grades based on their voting records and sponsorship of legislation from 2005 to 2008.

NumbersUSA issued a news release to say Crapo received an A minus. Rep. Bill Sali also scored an A minus, but didn't get a news release. A spokesman wasn't sure why. Rep. Mike Simpson got a B minus, while outgoing Sen. Larry Craig got a C minus.

Craig has long supported a controversial immigration bill he said was needed to keep a work force for Idaho agriculture. Crapo and the rest of Idaho's congressional delegation have taken a harder line, opposing paths to citizenship for workers in the country illegally.
